ABC Wednesday : M for Moon

Fascination for the moon, just the photography part, strictly. The moment I lay hands on a telephoto lens, I waited for the first shot. Here is what came up.

Something has gone dreadfully wrong. Where was the beautiful picture which we all see. Well, after some time of roaming in circles, moon is a moving object! Hence you need a fast shutter speed. And need to compensate the less light coming in due to the faster shutter.

Setting for above photograph
1/60 sec
f/6.3
Aperture Priority
ISO 3200
Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM
Canon 600D

Here is a better one with different settings

Settings for above photograph
1/2000 sec
f/6.3
Shutter Priority
ISO 1600
Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM
Canon 600D

Post processing is very important for such photographs. I haven’t started with it yet.
