To reach this place, you can take your own vehicle upto the parking area of Meena Bazar and then walk down to Matia Mahal road. For metro users you can either get down at Chandni Chowk or Chawri Bazar and then take a rickshaw to Jama Masjid. Seating is limited to just one table. Menu at Kallan Sweets
The popular items on the menu are Shahi Tukda, lassi, kheer, rabri and kheer. But the best is the paneer jalebi which is available only during Ramzan. You can also try the phirni during that period.
Each item tastes good and is prepared from good quality ghee. It is rich in taste and mind you, high on calories, but who cares. Shahi Tukda is claimed by many to the best available here.
Packing is also available and is smart.
The person who manages the place is very friendly and welcomes you to click photos. He also carefully explains the preparation of each sweet and its specialty and origins. The wall is full of newspaper clippings and photos of famous visitors to this place. Overall the place is kept very neat and tidy.
The best place to finish off your meal with a good dessert.
