About Yashwant Palace

Yashwant Palace is a two storey building which houses number of shops selling all kinds of items of home decor. Plus there are many other shop selling a variety of goods. The food court is an L shaped setup. Seating is both in the restaurants and outside. Restaurants are small in size with limited seating. At some places the shop has occupied a neighboring shop too. So that means more dining space inside. That way we have a few dominant eating outlets and a few smaller ones. Food is good. Especially the momos. Prices are not that attractive. Rs 300 for a half plate Chilly Chicken is steep. Especially for street food settings.

About Momo Point restaurant

Momo Point Yashwant Palace is the first restaurant you come across as you climb up the ramp of the food court from the parking side. It is the second shop from the left and unmissable due to its distinct exteriors. The name Momo Point is slightly deceptive because it has a full scale restaurant menu. Menu items are all Chinese fast food variety. This food is popular as street food in places like Mumbai. But Delhi has a lot of catching up to do. Momos are very popular in Delhi. And they taste good too. Momo Point restaurant in Yashwant Palace, Chanakyapuri takes this concept forward. Momos here are huge, soft and juicy. The red chutney is spicy while the insides are sort of steamed chicken. This combo gives it a wonderful taste of sweet and spice. There is another variety of momos which has to be tried, chicken fried momos. The fried variety gives the right crispiness to the outer layer.

The other items on the menu are the grill and the Mughlai items which are standard on any restaurant in Delhi. Fired fish and chicken is displayed at the counter. These are also the star attraction of the evening. There is limited seating inside. Service is fast. Prices as I had mentioned earlier, are a tad expensive for what is called as street food. Worth a trip once for the momos. Repeated trips are purely own choice.
