Shutter Speed

The basic setting of high or low shutter speed will be selected depending on whether you want to freeze a motion or blur it.

A high shutter speed is used to capture or freeze motion. Here we have frozen the water droplets. Individual droplets might be visible. The trade off here is as the shutter speeds increase, lesser light will enter inside and the images will appear darker. You will need to compensate for that.

A slower shutter speed means that motion is now blurred.

Which shutter speed is to be chosen is entirely upto the photographer. The situation and the context is very important.
