All this despite their popularity or celebrity status which they enjoy.
About Standard Burfee
Standard Burfee was envisaged and born in the era when personalized food was the order of the day. Back then one could not imagine food to be anything else except taste and richness. Roshan Burfee stood for awesome food and strict quality control. With the recent onslaught of fast food in shiny malls, this place has a sort of crisis identity, but it is holding on pretty good. It recently had a facelift which has improved its ambiance, but dont expect too much.
Standard Burfee is a basic sweet shop. There is limited seating. A huge counter displaying sweets dominates the entrance. There is another counter which prepares and serves chat items. It is a self service kind of setup once you pay for the meal.
Again, do not expect the shiny eye candy display as you commonly see all across New Delhi these days.
About the food
This place is popular for chole bhature for breakfast. Other snacks like samosa or kachori is also good. Chat items like tikki and aloo chat are outstanding. Do not miss the Kesar Pista Badam Milk which is the signature item of this place.

Sweet shops like Standard Burfee are fast losing their clientele due to the fast food in a mall culture. But a loyal customer base will take this place on for years to come.
